How Complex Care Works
Our Complex Care Nurse, Josie, leads the assessment process and meets with you and your family to complete a thorough home assessment. She ensures all members of your care team have the required skills and training to deliver your specific care safely and effectively.
Your care plan documents all aspects of your complex care needs in detail and is reviewed annually or updated earlier if required. Every carer involved in your complex care is fully trained and competency assessed by Josie on a regular basis.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is complex care?
Complex care at home refers to the delivery of advanced healthcare services for individuals with serious, long-term, or multiple health conditions that require ongoing clinical oversight and interventions—typically beyond what standard Homecare offers. It involves clinical tasks usually provided in hospital or nursing settings, delivered at home by qualified professionals.
Who typically receives complex care at home?
Complex care supports children or adults with congenital conditions requiring ventilator support, individuals discharged from hospital with high medical needs, people with progressive neurological conditions, cancer patients requiring specialist care, and people with serious disabilities and multiple comorbidities.
How is complex care different from standard Homecare?
Complex care involves advanced medical interventions and requires specialist training and clinical oversight. It includes procedures like ventilation care, PEG feeding, specialist medication management, and continuous monitoring that require qualified healthcare professionals.
What qualifications do your complex care staff have?
All our complex care staff are specially trained and regularly assessed by our in-house Complex Care Nurse, Josie. They receive comprehensive training in the specific procedures and interventions required for each client’s needs.
How long can complex care services be provided?
Complex care services can be provided for as long as they are required, whether that’s short-term during recovery or long-term for ongoing conditions.
Is funding available for complex care?
Depending on your assessed needs, funding may be available through Self-Directed Support, NHS continuing healthcare, or local authority support. We can help guide you through the funding process.
What's included in a complex care support plan?
Your care plan documents all aspects of your complex care needs in detail, including specific procedures, medication requirements, emergency protocols, and the skills required by your care team. It’s reviewed annually or when your needs change.
